The Yoga Service Council is looking to expand our blog, and would love to feature the voices of our community (that’s you!).

Aidee 3We’re interested in writing that speaks to our understanding of yoga service, which we define as:

The intentional sharing of yoga and mindfulness practices that support healing and build resilience for all regardless of circumstances, taught within a context of conscious relationship supported by regular reflection and self-inquiry.

If you have reflections, reports, or other relevant material you’d like to share, please review the guidelines below. Submissions should be emailed to blog@yogaservicecollective.org.

Writing Guidelines

  • Article length: 1000-1800 words.
  • Appropriate links: e.g., link every statistic noted to the original study, reference any important works cited or built upon.
  • Craft a title that conveys your content succinctly, and promises to capture reader interest.
  • Use subheadings to divide your article into sections.
  • Use accessible language; avoid jargon.
  • Do not assume that people have read books on yoga practice, philosophy or theory, or have studied it.
  • Include 2-3 pictures that you have copyright to publish with the article. Include an eye-catching featured image that complements your writing, and will post well on social media.
  • Include a 100-125 word author bio, along with an appropriate author photo (e.g., headshot).
